Modify Extra intake?

I have been tossing around an idea in my head. I see a lot of people like to switch the battery and intake. But I have noticed whether the intake is a factory set up or made to resemble a ram air intake it has very sharp bends in it.. My thought is to cut and paste the throttle body from the front of the engine and re-engineer it to come off at a 90 degree from the right side of the engine. I will have to dig further to see if vacuum ports will interfere. I also believe if the intake is on the right side the air will be distributed more evenly over the cylinders.

it is a 94 p/u. 22re 4x4. stock for now.

Thanks

To much work for what little if any gains that you might see.

Thanks for the replies. I can see where everyone is coming from. But what have I got to lose?

Just thinking out of my o-ring here, but it might be easier to swap the upper intake from a 3rz to your 22re. Then you would have an intake routing that was inline with the flow into the cylinders instead of perpendicular like the current set-up. And perhaps since it's an off the shelf item it would be easier to modify to fit.
