Metal Action 2nd gen bored throttle and matched intake
This is a picture of the Metal Action bored 2nd gen 3vze throttle and matched intake. I discovered the existence of this mod while searching for 3vze power options.
It came from an old post:
http://4wd.media-north.com/mtech.htm
(then click on Overbored Throttle Body and Intake Manifold )
I investigated and got in touch with Mark at metalaction
www.metalaction.ca
This led to correspondance and trips to Canada.
I was able to determine that there was only 1 left.
More negotiation led to the purchase of this unit.
I have taken shipment and am looking forward to seeing what this can do. Mark does precision work for Boeing and it looks like he has done an excellent job with this tb/intake combo.
I have not done an install like this before, if anyone has any advice I would be very pleased to hear about an tb/intake plenum removal/install procedure for this engine.
-things do be careful of, common errors, etc.
thanks in advance-

It's as simple as pulling the old one off and installing the new. Theres some little things such as a few hoses and wires that need to be disconnected and moved out of the way but it's pretty easy. Take a good look at what your working with before starting. If in doubt, just "mark" them and/or take pics when you undo everything.
My only experience was recently taking the intake manifold off. It was basically a straight forward procedure that was easily done.

new intake gasket 2nd gen
thanks 95SR5 and rocket-
what's the purpose of the new intake gasket, do you have a part number?
If you have a pic even better.
Thanks a lot for that tip- wouldn't have known

3vze bored throttle body problem
well, it turns out that the bored throtte body and intake that I had bored for me were the wrong type. There were not enough ports on the new TB and no place to mount the TPS. so after I had everything removed, turns out I had to put the originals on again! talk about disappointed. so I sent it back!
I am where I started, looking for a good supplier for a bored TB for the 3vze.
FIrst, if anyone has one that they are sitting on, I am very interested.
Second, how much should they be bored (how many mm)
Finally, who are the suppliers who can do this kind of thing
! TJP

uggg id be leery of dealing with DOA
my afm mod or (cebbys actually) will only be possibly with a split second conversion for a MAF. And with that you may as well use a 5.0's MAF. Conversion price would be about 400 or so....
