Had to trim damn near all of the rear roll pan, but hey I like how it turned out.

I like that bumper.
Don't see why you had to cut out the roll pan like that though.

I didnt' cut the pan at all. I thought I would have to notch it a bit, but it lined up just where I wanted it. I did have to bend both the top and bottom of license plate just a bit.

You didn't need to cut because you have a body lift, he does not have a body lift.

You don't have to hack it all the way off like that but you have to at least notch it where the bumper attaches to the frame.

Now where be them slider pics?? I'm curious as to how they are mounted exactly. You got any underside pics or something?

Nope. I took it off a bone stock truck with no body lift. I have looked at a handful of them, the brackets are designed to fit without hacking up the pan. I had to cut and reweld the brackets (removing 3" of drop) to get it to fit without being about, oh, 3" too low...

I haven't welded the the sliders up yet, I have tacked them together to see what they will look like though. I probably won't get them welded till wheeling time this spring. I am in the process of buying a house and working my ass off for the down payment. Not much time to dink around in the garage, if ya know what I mean. I am pretty stoked though soon I will have a 2 car garage to work on my shiat, and it will be mine. Not bad for just turning 20 in sept.

Oh I see.. Mine aren't welded on yet either (I can't weld). I know what you mean about not having any room. I'm 21 in school and apartment living doesn't make working on your truck easy. I replaced a UJoint out in the parking lot the other day. You have to learn to improvise

My thing about the sliders was this. Did you notch the pinch weld to allow the frame tubes to go through it and mount the sliders just outboard of the pinch weld? Or are you going to mount them directly under the pinch weld and angle the legs down or something?

It's all custom fab, he does pretty sick stuff I think.

I finally got my Marlin rear bumper. I sure looks like I'll need to notch the pan. It's hard to tell for sure since I was lifting it in place by myself. My truck has a 1" body lift. I was looking at these pics on the Marlin site

http://www.marlincrawler.com/images/rearbumper6_500.jpg

http://www.marlincrawler.com/images/...mper12_500.jpg

http://www.marlincrawler.com/images/...ing_10_500.jpg

. . . . and I don't see a way around notching.

I'm also interested in a creative way to install this bumper by myself if necessary. I came away from my last attempt bleeding a little. But, at least my finger is still attached and unbroken.

I just got off the phone with Marlin. Word is that I'll need to notch a bit. The photos are of trucks with no body lift. I think the angle grinder with a cut off wheel will do the trick.

On another note, I don't know if anyone else noticed. But, if you compare the pictures in this thread to the pictures on the Marlin site you'll notice that the spacers for the shackle mounts are missing on Van's bumper . . . . . and mine too by the way. Marlin said that they have ordered a new kind of spacer that is less labor intensive for the fabricator because they outsource it and it's easier to attach. Marlin will send out the spacers to anyone that got a bumper without them.
