Lug Patterns Between Generations

Searched but couldn't find anything...

I'm keeping some black steelies (3.75 backspacing) on my 1986 4Runner that I'm selling and was wondering if they will fit a 3rd generation ('98 to be specific) lug pattern? Will they fit a second gen pattern as well?

Thanks for the info.

yes they will fit on a 2nd and 3rd gen, just make sure that the 3rd gen does not have th upgrade brakes. one easy way to tell is if the 3rd gen currently has 15" rims (assuming your black steelies are 15"), if they have 16"+ rims you'd most likely have to test fit them.

Crap. So got all the tires and rims mounted and of course the fronts don't fit around the calipers. Is there a way to space it to fit? Right now it looks like my 15" rim is too small in diameter since the inside of the wheel is hitting the outter most part of the caliper.

I already got the rears mounted no problems and they look freakin sweet! So bummed!

Hmm so it looks like it baaaarely interfers... do you all think it would be a bad idea to file down the caliper body a tad? Anybody dealt with this problm before?
