lower radiator hose

just pulled truck apart to replace timing chain , and am curios to see if any one has ever reconfigured the lower radiator hose to do away with the wrap around metal pipe and have just one hose off the block to lower radiator connection .

Why ??

The third generation Celica`s with the 22Re used one long hose

If I recall it was quite expensive

after I pulled it aprt I found the 90 degree elbow from the block outlet to the water pipe has been leaking, and I did not even know it was there . apparently , neither did my uncle, who bought it new . it has never been changed. I see it like this-the more connections and clamps you have , the bigger possibility of a failure .that is why I was considering re-routing the hose with one hose and doing away with the metal pipe. just a thought , getting the engine back together with 261c cam and new header will take first priority.

Well what ever you do figure to do this make 2 .

Custom hoses will fail at the worst possible place on a Sunday
