I'm replacing my lower front bumper valance and am having a tough time finding the original color code (for the valance not the truck itself). I've dug around various sites including toyotareference.com and the best I can come up with is code 138.

This is the color code used with two-tone color code 28L, which based of the pictures of a 1990 4runner on toyotareference.com is the closest match.

Anyone have any better information?

Im pretty sure there is only two color choices for the valence.

1.A gray like color
2.Black


I don't think there was any certain code for them.

There is no color code for the valance. Toyota merely calls it "Argent" though there isn't a color for it. When you order them new, they come painted that color. That is, unless you buy an aftermarket one. Then, good luck.

Btw, the lower valance never came the same color as the truck. If you ever see a truck with one painted like that, its been painted by the owner.

Chrome is an aftermarket option as well. It didn't come from the factory like that. I think you can find those chrome ones on Ebay.

I ordered one from 1sttoyotaparts.com, so it will be OEM, however the parts guy on the phone said it would come ready for paint. It did take him awhile to give me that answer, so I don't think he really knew.

When I pick up the valance, I'll post if it did come painted and maybe even add a picture showing the color.

I picked up my new valance from Toyota today, it looks like it just has your typical black primer (not the grey metallic I remember).
