lower control arm removal??????

I'm takin off the lower control arm and the bolts that go through with the circle things on it seem to be stuck. I got the 2 off of the front cross member but the back arent budging. Is there any special trick to removing these bolts??? Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much.

its the eccentric cam bolts i think, the fronts slid right out but the rears are a bitch and not moving at all. in the middle of puttin a lift on and these 2 bolts are holding up the entire process.

If they aint budgen after some penetrating oil and a big hammer.... ur best bet is a sawzall... or a grinder with a big arse cutoff wheel... your gunna have to cut the bolt on either side of the a-arm... had to do three on mine... consider your self lucky you only have two

Yep, don't beat on it too much you will start to bend the frame. Cut them off.

I cut mine off too. Had a heck of a time finding replacements. Actually ended up finding bushings at Lowe's, and bought new hardened steel bolts, which then had to have the threaded side milled to one flat edge, but it went together. I actually spent about 5 hours trying to free one up, then just cut them off. Don't waste your time. If the bolts are frozen into the bushings, you won't get them off. Unless you are way luckier than me.

Ok same thing for me. I am installing a lift and stuck with 3 bolts that wont budge. I already cut one off and got the right arm out. Once you guys got them out how did you get the damn bushings out? This is turning into a nightmare. I am working on cutting out the left side now.

The best way to get them out is to fire up an acetylene torch and melt them. It makes a mess, and stinks like ˟˟˟˟, but it works.

Leave em in. Get the energy suspension poly bushings and theyll just drop into the arms with the sleeves frozen in.

Honestly? Your best bet is to go to a local steel supply store and dig around in their scrap bin to find some tube with the right OD and ID. Then just slather the ˟˟˟˟ outta your bolts with grease. You can go to the dealership but be prepared to pay your first born.

And yeah that's mine. Really old pic though. Looks nothing like that now lol

That's not a bad idea. Yeah I ordered the prothane first but when I saw that they didn't have the inside sleeves I ordered the Moog. I figured that it would be worth the extra money for whats pretty much factory replacement. Plus I have heard alot of complaints about the prothane stuff being really noisy. Well you should put some pictures up! From your signature it seems you have a pretty nice ride!
