does anybody have any pics of there lower control arm angle cuz I just did a 1.5" BJ sacer today and not sure if my angle is to much or if its normal cuz I dont want to bust a CV while in 4x4

 

The only way you will bust a CV is full droop full lock. just try to getthe angle so you have equal travel up and down.

 

A better way is to measure from the edge of the rim to the fender lip. Stock is typically around 13.5". Let us know what yours is and we can better give you an idea of where your truck is sitting.

well at least make them even. A 2 inch or so drop from the bas of the control arm to the end would be a good angle.

 

Ok, you are on the higher side but good. I would make them both about 15.5" as long as the frame measures symmetrically with the ground. Typically I pick a point on the front frame rails where it is easy to measure against and use flat pavement to ensure the truck is sitting level. You can check that against the fenders. This just takes out any chance there is something not quite right with the fenders.

We could measure angles but if you don't have a good protractor which most of us don't you won't have enough resolution anyway. Measuring as I described will work better and more consistently.

ok so having it that high is ok on my CV shafts ..and I do plan on doing a diff drop spacer but not sure what to use I want to make my own to save money...would it be possible to use a couple hockey pucks with holes drilled in them and longer bolts or does it have to be a solid piece

 

Your diff sees some heavy loading, especially if it hits a rock.. You need to use metal for spacer material for sure. It's possible to use something softer but I have a bad feeling you'll wish you hadn't.

1.5" of lift is fine. I wouldn't go over that unless you have a compelling reason for more compression travel like you enjoy catching air or something like that.

These diff drop kits are fairly cheap, have you priced them? Otherwise pull of the hardware, measure up, and have at it. It's fun to make your own stuff.

the truck is just my DD I wanted the lift to clear bigger and to have clearence for what I go campin/minor trails cuz I cant do much with IFS

 

Gotcha. You might be surprised of what your truck is capable.

You could just go with manual hubs if you don't already have them and not sweat the cv boot wear at all. CV boots last a long time anyway but with manual hubs they will really last.

a crawling, locked, armored runner on 33's, can go just about anywhere molly's 35's locked sas goes.

 

ok so I was wrong IFS can do some pretty crazy stuff those are som imppresive videos...I still have yet to take my truck off roading other than parking lot snow piles and mud puddles on dirt roads

 

You will find that the IFS conversation takes place at least once, if not twice, per week.
