Who makes a OEM lower Ball joint. I don’t want to buy some POS that’s gonna fail next year. I suspect mine are probably stock as most everything else I have replaced on this 200k 4Runner was old as dirt. They are next on my list of things to fix. If you know a great place online to buy a OEM LBJ that would be great also.
Toyota still sells them https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/p/T...333039295.html I don't know who Toyota buys them from (probably changes over the years), but if you want an OEM part it is hard to go wrong getting it from the vehicle manufacturer.
Like scope says above. I bought Upper Ball-joints from Toyota Parts Deal, OEM and good pricing, too. I replaced because there was play and UBJ on our generation carries most of vehicle weight. Upper Ball Joints are more critical on our generation because they carry most of vehicle weight.
Why do you need to replace LBJ? If it has no play or other obvious problem, I would keep it. It is not as critical as the LBJ on 1st-gen Tacoma and 3rd-gen 4Runners which are under tension, carry most of the vehicle weight and could pull apart without warning.

Thank you gentleman. I guess I was under the impression the LBJ was a weak spot. I will probably replace both LBJ and UBJ soon. My 4Runner is just over 200k. I bought it in January and am finding a ton of very worn out and what I suspect are stock parts.
Last year I replaced the upper and lower ball joints on my 94 4wd pickup. I used Beck Arnley's purchased through Rock Auto. They are the 555 Sankei brand that are made in Japan. Super quality at a fraction of the price! It is kind of a crap shoot though-they sent me 3 555 and one chinese ball joint. I returned the the inferior chinese ball joint and received a 555 in return. As a matter of fact, I'm getting ready to do the tie rod ends and I'm going to try my luck again with Rock Auto!
