Pick up my truck last night a 91 3.0v6 5speed and it idled fine above 500rpm and all then afte ri bought it i drove to the gas station and filled up. When i started from there, which was a 20min drive to the station,it idled at like 300rpm but wouldnt die or anything. Any ideas? I thought the motor was about to die but it would drive fine and all just idle low when clutch was engaged while driving or sitting at a light. But when I started it last night after it sat for a few hours and got cold again, I started it and it idled at 500rpm. This mean i should get a tune up?

 

same thing was happening on my rig when i first got it too.

i was tied between giving it a tune up, or just a quick fix, then i looked at my wallet....

so i got out my screwdriver and gave the idle screw about a 1/4 to 1/3 turn, no idle problems now.

 

True. I was debating that, but I'm going to wait till my mechanic can take a look at it on tuesday but just trying to get an idea of what it could be.
