Love the 4runner - 1 complaint

So my 1993 has every option that you could imagine for the time period. I mean what other cars/trucks had electric everything (windows, mirrors, antenna, etc) even had key less entry. (Which by the way, it's 2009 and not one electrical component is out of commission on my rig) My 99' M3 didn't have key less entry!

However, you have to have the flexibility of a Chinese gymnast to close all of the windows at once! Shouldn't they have just put a 'Close all' button some where? Between the drivers/passenger side front and rears, the sun roof and the rear window it takes a good 2 to 2.2 hrs to close all of the windows. 6 buttons in 3 different locations.

This is not for serious discussion - just lighthearted semi-complaints for a Friday afternoon.

there are the 4 switches on the door, one on the roof for the sunroof and one on the center console for the rear window.

If you are really flexible you could some how postion 4 fingers on the left hand to control the front and rear windows, then right hand for the sunroof - this is wear it gets tricky and you have to be wearing sandles - big toe to the center console.

...or just do the 4 at once while you are doing the sunroof or back window, then do the other one seperately

too much time - need a panic "close all" button - I'll work on that and do a write up, I'm sure there would be much interest. I envision some sort of pull lever like an ejector seat in a jet.

Noted.

But how come you guys can't see this is the next big thing??? Everyone's signature will say, "SDORI BJ Spacers, OME, blah blah, cory8926's roll up all windows at once lever"

Also, of course you will roll down the driver and passenger front and rear, but then you look up and there's a sun roof. That must open also. Then the air passing from the sunroof to the side windows gets kinda crazy so you roll down the back window! You can't just leave the back window down because you would die of carbon monoxide poisoning (lesson learned first week with the truck) It's a slippery slope...

you have to drive the runner with at least the 2 front windows and the tailgate window down it pulls all the air back and feels good on you neck and lets all the people behind you hear your subs blasting!

I have always liked the 90's 4runners a lot. They are my favorite style.

My friend just picked up a 1992 Isuzu Trooper & you wanna talk about being loaded for that year, it even has heated & power fold in mirrors. Believe it or not it has limited slip diffs in the front & rear ordered from the factory. I was very surprised.

Why not take a window switch from a junkyard and wire it to close all of the windows at once?

i agree though i have no sun roof so i can two handed 5 finger it. (did that sound bad?) however i have learned to start rolllin up my rear doors when i pull in somewhere cause they take so long and the rear window rearly goes up cause my 100lbs black lab protects my runner

i also agree that all windows need to go down. that's how my dog runs left to right to rear to bark at bikers riding past me in traffic.

also back in the day and still in the back of my head. ive got an 86 3 series bmw that was always ment to get a keyless entry alarm setup. never gotten around to it. weight for a sports car is a no no anyway. but i rembmer finding an alarm/keyless entry that had options on it. one of those options was an all open/ unlock, and all close lock option. this may be an easier option than spliceing some wires.

Another switch shouldn't be to hard. just a quick resistor (or whatever only alows one way electrical current so every switch dosen't become an everytihng switch) and splice from all the other buttons to a second rear window switch in the center console. hrm, mikey likey

and on a side note, has anyone ever seen the cops episode where a chick gets pulled over and as the cop is talking to her here rear window rolls down and her pitbull starts lunging towards the cop. cop pulled, ripped, the chick out of her civic, threw her on the ground and arested her cause he thought she did it on purpose. but the dog rolled down the window.

Ya know, if you managed to rig up a fairly simple switch to control 'em all at once.... I'd buy one.
