Catalytic converter heat guard unter the driver floor? You discription is not very clear. What area is the noise comming from? The engine? Does it change if you rev it up? Only when you are moving????

sry bout that. ummm.. lets c well theres no cat. not 1 worth mentioning, i busted out all the stuff on the inside. as far as i can tell the most off the noise is coming from the front of the vehicle. and it is mainly at 40 and 55-60+ so reving it doesnt matter and yes only when im moving.

can you hear it when you first start the truck? and is it 40-55 mph under accelleration that it makes the noise? does it sound like a bag of marbles, kinda? because if it does (you will know), that is the sound of your timing chain rattling against the timing cover on the forward part of the engine.

does it make that sound though? if it does, there are a few things you could do to splint the wound, or a couple things you could do to cure the disease entirely.

Does the vehicle vibrate or do you just hear it?

I had a similar sound/vibration when my ujoints were going out, then my dang driveshaft fell off...lol

It was only at around 50mph too.

Both of my trucks have always done it. 87 22r and my 93 22re. The 22re has new timing chain components but i just think its something with the exhaust. I'll fix it when it blows~
