That motor looks like it's about to go another 300k worry-free miles at the minimum.

Just curious because I'm not as far advanced as you appear to be, what are you doing with the valves and that plunger thing? I've never seen anything like that. I had the machine shop handle all that stuff when I did my heads so I'm kinda clueless.

I know I wasnt very clear that was about my 89 2wd pickup but I changed my signature a bit.

I am lapping the new valves to the old seats with medium and fine grit.

The motor build looks pretty nice. Should last long enough for your son to drive it. which would be cool cause he helped build it.

but, a little post jacking if you dont mind. ill be quick.
Do you have a link to a write up or more pictures or something for your sub enclosure? That looks really sweet stuck in the side compartment there.

Engine Swap Question.

The pics you posted are great. I took a lot myself because I am swapping out mine with a reman.

I have the old engine out and sitting next to the new core. I'm a little lost at this point, I bought the factory set of FSM, but am having problems finding where it would guide me through assembling the new core.

My biggest questions are on what to put on the gaskets and best procedure as I switch stuff over. What keywords/sections should I look for in the books?

What type of stuff(silicon or other) should I put on gaskets?

Anyway, thanks for your post,

Martin

Great Pics!! These will definitely help on my 3.0 Rebuild.
So how has the ebay kit been holding up?
