Looking for some help with regearing
I'm picking up a front differential with a locker and 4.88s tomorrow. He also has a rear ring and pinion.
My truck is a 92 4 cylinder, the ring and pinion will still fit correct?
Next question, if it will could anyone give me a ball park on what it'll cost to have a shop put that in? Little more than I trust myself with required it seems like.
And finally would it be cheaper to just buy a differential with 4.88s? What all came with those? I found an 88 automatic v6, would it have the 4.88s?
Thanks in advance,
Jake

It depends. Did the seller specify whether it's a ring and pinion for a 4 cylinder or a 6 cylinder? If it's a ring and pinion for a v6 differential, it won't work in your differential.

Probably

They came in '92-'95 automatic V6 4Runners. Not all of them, though. Just the ones with the door code G144. See the link I posted below.

No, not from the factory.
Thanks in advance,
