The little Yoda that could...

Specs. 1986 Toyota Xtracab DLX 4WD 22R Stock carburetor 5 speed G54 transmission. 193K odo. All stock and original engine and drivetrain.

I have several issues and I'm hoping the yota tech community can help me out.

First problem I want to address is fixing my reverse lights and 4WD indicator light. The switch on the side of the transmission case has wire that are broken and I cannot find the information on where they go. Where are those wires supposed to connect?

Second issues is that when I push my clutch pedal in, there is a whining noise. What would cause this?

Throw-out bearing would be "spinning" when the clutch is in....

And yes yes the switch is on the passenger side of the transmission.

Option A) drive it until it stops working and then deal with towing it home and fixing it

Option B) fix it before you get stranded. You need a clutch kit. Clutch, pilot bearing, throw out bearing, and you may as well do the master / slave. Buy Aisin, it's OEM and very affordable on rockauto.com

Already replaced the clutch master and slave cylinder a little more than 1000 miles ago so they should be good and still under warranty.

Those pics help me a little. You are holding two plugs? If so, which one comes from the switch. If both plugs come from the switch, where do they plug in at?

Sorry about that. The plugs I am holding are what the line connects into. It connects into the bottom one

The white plug on the left comes from the transmission near the shifter on the driver side (reverse light I believe), the other single connection is from the transfer case

I have an 86 pickup. It is a 22re. I said it might be similar. The other connection is for the reverse light I think

I have three plugs in the location on your truck. The two that you have plus an extra one.

Three wires red coming out of the switch on the teams case. One red. One red/yellow stripe. One black.

The "extra" third plug, which is female, has only one red/yellow stripe wire attached.

The other plug, which is male, has two wires. One being red and the other being red/white stripe.

The wires have been broken and I can't find where they all go and can't afford an FSM for $140. Some expert help would greatly be appreciated.

Alright. I have three plugs in the engine compartment as well. One of them I don't use. Are those ones intact and you just need from the transmission to those connections?

I'm trying to figure out what each plug is for. And then to ultimately fix everything. I want to fully restore my truck to original stock condition with OEM parts with minor exceptions of course.

I have rewired the switch coming out of the transmission case back to its corresponding plug. Plugged it in and BOOM! I have reverse lights now. The two wires on the switch are RED and RED/WHITE STRIPE.
Plug is also same colors so it made it obvious as to which wire belonged.

So so my question now is... What are the other two plugs for? The plug that is not attached to the reverse plug was connected to a plug with only one RED/RED YELLOW STRIPE wire coming from it.

The he plug that is attached to the reverse plug is empty.
