Great truck and nice work! I'll throw in my .02 about the flex-a-lite fan:
I added one to my '91 after the fan blade broke and took some of the shroud with it. It was easy to install, and I do like it. I'll be completely honest - I did not notice any improved economy or improved cooling. If there was any power gain, it was not very much. I do like the fact that I can turn the fan off if I choose, or force it on with a switch.
The problem I have had with mine is the thermostat circuit board has corroded and needed replacing a few times. I'm sure I could attempt to seal it better, but it's about a $15 part and easy to change. The fan itself has proved durable and never had problems.

Thank for the info and compliment... still debating on it.... for $354 on summitracing.com is kinda steep. still on the fence about it.. do you know if this is the one you purchased? this is the one im looking at with the thermostat controller built into it.... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/fl...commendedparts.... I just really hate the "school bus" sound of the clutch fan and it kinda modernizes the truck!!! LOL

This looks like mine - the 165 model

yea I was looking at that one but a lot of reviews said that the 674 one was better and since controller was built in the shroud was more durable than the addon controller. I dunno once again going off of internet reviews!!! LOL we will see I will probably do this after im done with the plastidip paintjob and body work.... not a necessity...

If the 674 has a more durable controller, then it would be better. I don't remember any other options at the time I bought mine, so maybe it is a newer development. Good luck with your work, the plastidip looks good.

thanks...... the best is yet to come!!!!! just have to get a new tailgate and drivers fender and ill be ready to plastidip the entire truck!!!!

Nice truck man. My only suggestion is the pacesetter catback exhaust system they have on summit racing.com. Its only around 250 bucks. Gives you a little bit more of an aggressive sound over stock without blowing out your eardrums.

I will look into that .. thanks!!!! I had to replace the catback exhaust when I bought the truck because it was broken/rusted out. I just replace it with a rockauto exhaust. wish I knew about it then oh well live and learn.... I will definetly look into though... any noticeable gains, motor breathes better, etc?...

this? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ps...a/model/pickup..... I would love to do headers also but too pricey and real nervous about removing the stock manifolds!!! LOL why does it say outlet is passenger side????

I didn't really notice any gains... All it really is a stock exhaust with flowmaster style muffler, but for something that cheap I thought the quality was pretty darn good. My exhaust exits the driver side. i'm guessing that's a typo.
