Ok, the Aussie is $239, so not that much less than the Lockright. I had thought it was less in price, just didn't know how much.

Locker most definitely.

An Aussie or LockRight would be great with the auto. Your risk of "spinning out" is only a problem if you drive on really bald or wide mud tires on ice or snow. That chance can be further eliminated by putting it in 4wd when it gets really slick.

I did a really (!!!) detailed quasi-blog about living with a locker. See my signature or search Aussie Locker Review. Most of what is said is applicable to all lockers.

well i ordered the aussie yesterday from payless and apparently there is a 3 week back order on them and thats ordering direct from aussie go figure. I also ordered the TG sliders.

Mike, I only go out to Butte when I have to, but all the temp fencing around the Arts building is what I used to do. I was supposed to buy the company but i got jacked out of it because the owner needs cash now because of a divorce. I am only working now when there is fence instead of full time until it sells. there are some nice yoats out there. seen a gal drivin one in the upper parking lot monday, she was a little hottie!!! LOL

Wise choice. The three week delay is a little odd IMHO but it'll give you time to get the sliders welded on. Be sure and post up pictures so I can drool over the armor that I can't afford yet.

Do you plan on installing the Aussie yourself?

yep i did block it all off lol but now you'll have covered parking lol

Ok hahhaa i decided that the budbuilt skid plate was wayyyy to expensive for the amount of work to make one or have it made haha. so i stopped off at this welding shop and whalla 50 bucks later, i'll have 3/16 in plate bent where i measured and ready to go. all i have to do is drill the holes for bolts. man i tell ya the etching on the budbuilt must cost a fortune!!! hmmm i put in 45 min of work to measure and draw up the plan and save $200

It is painted and in place now. 3/16 thick and the 1 inch angle iron supports should do the trick. I also designed it so that i could add further in the future. the steel, cuts and welding by Brown's Welding in Corning for $75. He is also going to mount the Trail Gear rock sliders for me. because I do not have a BL and the frame sits really high under the body, i will have to angle it down slightly off the frame and then angle back up to about 3/4 of an inch below the body and tilted back up.
the Rock sliders will probably get put on tomorrow.

what do you mean pinch weld? term i never heard before lol.

well saturday i got the TG sliders in place. Kenny over at Browns decided against the angle and added several steel plates to drop it 3/4 in below the body. and then angled the slider up to keep it inside the tire line. it really turned out good. I ran out of roll-on bedliner, so tomorrow i have to buy some spray to finish it all up. I worked on the sub enclosure today. The old enclosure was simply to big at 4.5 cu.ft. w/ a 4in port so I disected my old enclosure down to 1.6 which will give me a 1.5 sealed after speaker displacement. hope to have that done tomorrow, we'll see....
