Thook any locker will make the back end spin out a little easier on snow etc...

if you are driving cautiously/or in 4wd you cannot tell... IMO

Way too slow??? What do you mean? Me being too slow? Hmm.....forgive a guy for lack of real experience. I was under the impression the aussie was a limited slip from what someone who has one told me. Just tryin' to make sense of the contradictions, eh. (Or, did you mean you.....hehe. The posting is going rather fast, I suppose.)

Anyway, that's what I figured about the behavior. Wanted to be clear.

You have stated that in the 1st post. Aussie makes a locker for your 22re truck, just not for us V6 guys

Sounds like I need to do some reading lol. I'll look up aussie and lokrite and see what I can find. I need to find someone with a mandrell bender lol. I've seen the marlin and the trail gear bumpers and have my own idea what it needs to look like and do. Actually the Addicted guy has a nice start on the one he was showing except my tire is goin in rear of cab (I think)

No. You have to pull the ring gear but you can mark it so it goes back on in the same position that it came off (mark it with a sharpie). I installed mine in about an hour. Just be sure to refresh the carrier bearing pre-load. Check ZUK's site for details. I used his site for the install and after 10,000 miles I have no problems. This is with bearings that have seen 200,000+ miles and they are tight like a sober prom date, choice run out.

I was at school, today to lol. they are putting in some solor panels in the parking lot and i had to set up some fence to keep you hoodlems out hahaha

hey anyone know who drives that silver 96ish Toyota tacoma with the slight bed bob and SAS? this thing is decked out. it was out at american tire friday afternoon. THAT TRUCK IS BAAAADDDD!!!

so i obviously need to research what an aussie locker is and what the difference in the aussie and lokrite is. and then make a decision.

Another attractive thing 'bout the Aussie, IIRC, it is a lil easier on the wallet than the Lockright.

Ah....my bad. Nevertheless, thanks for the aussie schooling. I sure wouldn't mind having one in my 4rnr. Even an LSD. Only been stuck once, but once is enough to want more than open. She's my firewood go getter anymore. And, sometimes would like to get deeper in the woods without fear of getting stuck........again.

I have to agree that a locker is the next logical step. In my case I never had enough power to lose control on dry pavement with my Detroit Locker so that isn't even a concern for me or my ex-wife. On wet pavement you would still have to try to get squirly. I was very concerned with the wet traction when I got my first locker in my first 4Runner. I drove very cafefully but found that it didn't affect my street driving except for sometimes on a u-turn but you get used to it and drive differently to smooth things out.
If you think you will ever go bigger tires you might think about doing the ring and pinion at the same time as the locker since you will have overlapping labor diong them separately.
