Lets play a game, where do these wires go?
Yeah, so just trying to tie up all the loose ends on my truck (long friggen list!). One of those loose ends is my ability to start the truck without putting the clutch in (not using the clutch start cancel button). This function is required to be working to pass a vehicle inspection, and I would like to get my truck 100% compliant...
I found the button on the clutch pedal, and it has a little pigtail that was unplugged and tucked out of the way... Now the PO of my truck was a total HACK, so im not sure if he snipped the wires out or something...
So, can anyone trace the plug that this plugs into, and tell me where it goes?
I took my whole dash apart trying to track this sucker down to no avail.
Next wire bundle to worry about...
I found this guy sitting on top of the lower vent.. Im not sure if this is factory, if so I dunno what the heck it does...
I traced it up to the main wiring harness (im guessing) right behind the cluster.
If you look close im pointing a screwdriver to where it goes into the harness..
Thanks in advance for any help you guys (and girls) can offer...
I swear, every damn time I have to do wiring on my truck It makes me want to throttle the po!

Yeah, on all the manual trasmission vehicles I have driven (including other toyotas) you cannot start it without having the clutch pedal depressed.
If you look at the clutch pedal bracket you will see a button it depresses when fully depressed, this is the clutch start switch that said pigtail comes out of.
I know for sure that the PO had a alarm system of some kind in this truck, not sure if its related.. He hacked up ALOT of other crap
Everything in my truck works perfect, so thats why im so stumped at the unplugged wires. Thats alot of wires in the big plug....

Can anyone go and find out where the wiring for the clutch button (on the clutch bracket) goes to?
Haha, well I havnt gotten one YET. But I figure, with my loud exaust, lack of mudflaps, lack of flares and cracked windsheild... Its gonna happen.
So I figured I would slowley fix everything and then when/if the time comes, its no sweat.
So far I could pass a VI with the exception of:
Window is cracked
clutch start button not working
Rear mudflaps (im workin on that one , big rig flaps.. here I come)
Flares
And my ripped seat

But the second harness actually looks like the one that would plug into the clock in the dash... if your truck has one, if it does not, like mine, then just leave it.

I have a clock, and it works great It uses a smaller plug
This is crazy, its just wierd because everything works perfect (except the clutch button..) ....

On the clutch start switch, you should have a black wire with a red stripe, and a white wire with a blue stripe. The WHT/BLU goes to ground, And the BLK/RED gets hooked up to the BLK/RED on the clutch start cancel switch.
If your wire colors are different, the clutch start cancel switch should have two wires with the same color as the clutch start switch.

Okay so If I understand correctly. Two wires comming from the clutch pedal switch will be the same colour as two of the wires comming out of the clutch start cancel switch. The wiring from the clutch start cancell switch goes into a loom with the dimmer switch and drivers side speaker wiring. Would I just splice the two same coloured wires on the clutch pedal switch to the clutch start cancel switch wires?
Then the remaining two are just routed to a ground?

The clutch start switch should only have 2 wires. They are spliced into the corresponding wires on the clutch cancel switch. The corresponding wires on the clutch cancel switch should already be going to ground, and the starter relay.

if your worried about spelling switch to mozilla firefox not only does it help with spelling mistakes it also does a LOT MORE for pop ups and spam. i use it all the time and i swear by it...just my 2c worth even if it is not related to the thread.
