Anybody know if a 3rd gen 4runner leather shift boot will snap into place in a 2nd gen?

 

Maybe, I've never really taken apart a 5 speed 3rd gen runner. but if you can get the leather separated from the rest of the plastic housing on both of them, then you could probably make it work. For my 2nd gen, I'm looking into a Hurst shifter, and the vinyl boot from your 2nd gen is removable. Good luck, i hope this helps.
