Leaky Windshield

Leaky Windshield
Hey guys,
Bought my 91 SR5 3.0 about 3 weeks ago. Love it. Here in So Cal we just got a little rain and I soon figured out I had 2 leaks. Drivers side top corner of the windshield, and somewhere else leaking on my right foot under the dash. I haven't had a chance to investigate the foot area leak, but are there any common issues with leaks in that area I should look in to first? Not sure if its related to the windshield leak.
Thx in advance.

could always get some flowable windshield sealant and see if that fix's both. Only like a 4$ risk.
I am fairly sure there is a air intake for the climate control there, but it also could be traveling around under the dash.

Great tip- thx, I'll give that a shot. After looking over the entire seal again, I can see where the seal has become pretty brittle in areas, but most notably the top where the visible leak is. Might be time to just get it replaced. We'll see! I plan on doing a lot of preventative maintenance on this truck to keep her road trip worthy.

By seal do you mean the urethane adhesive used to stick glass to body OR the rubber gasket that some people use?
You normally would not see the adhesive until you remove the chrome trim or the rubber trim.
Chances are the rubber you see is not a gasket (used to really seal the glass to body), but rather just a trim. The urethane adhesive makes the seal.

Has the truck been in So Cal all its life? In my area, it is humid and rust gets behind the windshield. If it was in my area, I would suggest pulling the windshield, removing all of the old sealant and get the metal cleaned up. Windshield shops around here use a rust killer and then re-seal it. Leaky windshields is a fairly common issue on these trucks and is what I would suspect on yours.

Dunno where in SoCal, but if you're in or around LA the place to go for windshield repair is Mission & Cesar Chavez area. I went to a place called Jalisco and they were really nice. I think there are about 70 auto glass repair shops in that area, so competition is fierce and prices are dirt cheap. I got a new windshield for my scion (that I just sold) including installation for $110. They did a great job, too.
Watch out though with the metal trim around the windshield. Some places are careless with those. If you take it to a shop, take before shots of the truck in case they do a crappy job and try to tell you that they did it right- happened to me!

Thx for all the responses, guys. The truck is a so-cal truck, been here its whole life. To be safe (and for my piece of mind), I'm taking it to a buddy's shop next week to have a new seal put in. Hopefully they don't find any rust. Fingers crossed! Will post up the findings.

Had my windshield replaced today. I'm happy to report that there was a minute amount of rust. (Pics coming, they are on my phone). The windshield had been replaced before by the previous owner from the looks of it, and the seal was an absolute hack job. (No pics of that)
Now on to bigger and better things, like the timing belt, adding a rear bumper (didn't come with one), suspension overhaul, new tires, brakes, etc.
