Leaking PS Pump Fried A/C Compressor?
I'm in the middle of a HG rebuild right now but there are two other issues that my truck had as well. A leaking PS Pump and dead A/C.
My A/C went the beginning of June, and the PS Pump revealed it's slow leak later that summer. The leak now is about 2-3" puddle a day. I already purchased a new pump.
While everything on the front of the engine is off, I can't help but notice how the PS Pump and the Compressor are covered in the same 1/2" thick layer of gunk, as is the rest of that corner of the engine bay.
Now, could the PS fluid some how have peculated into the AC compressor and cause it to fail?

There is an "O" ring on the bottom of the reservoir. Tilt the pump out and you can access the two bolts holding it to the pump housing. Get a new "O" ring and save yourself a ton of money.
Yes, that reservoir leak will crud up the AC compressor.
My $0.02
