What is it? Where does it lead to? And why would it be leaking gas?

I just had my valve gasket done and had some vacuum hose issues that lead to a check engine light. I think I got them all back on there correct. But this hose was leaking gas. I turned it around and it stopped for the moment but if it continues.....

That is your fuel pressure regulator, it is spring operated and when the pressure in the fuel rail gets to a set pressure it overcomes the spring so fuel returns to the tank via the return line. Is it leaking into the vacuum hose? If it is, the seals on the diaphram are bad on the inside, replace it and you should be good.

When I turned the hose around it made a better fit, I also tapped it with the screw driver so maybe that settled the spring and diaphragm back into place. I appreciate Yotatech - you guys are awesome. Thanks for the info. If it starts acting up again I guess I will replace it.

When your truck bursts into flames? This is a closed system, so if you can smell fuel it is leaking out somewhere. If you could stop the leak by turning a hose around (I assume you're speaking of the fuel return), then the hose is probably too brittle to keep. Replace the fuel return hose (it's not a special order item; just get the right diameter of fuel line) and the hose clamps. A simple fix that will let you sleep better.

You DON'T want to mess with leaking fuel.
