LCE Header

Okay, i just bit the bullet and bought a new LCE Header for my 94 Toyota, im in the middle of a head gasket replacement(OEM), and have put a new Street RV head and 261c cam in from EngnBldr, i have also got a new rocker arm assembly. Figured i would try and do this right. My question is will it be ok to hook this header into the stock exhaust for the time being or do i need to go all out and go with new 2 1/4 inch out the tail? Im gonna put a new cat on as well. All opinions are appreciated

i hooked mine up to the stock exhaust for a couple of years, but after building my 2.25" exhaust, i wish i would have done it sooner. your gonna have a sweet set up. you will love the header.

i dont see anything wrong with hooking it up to stock exhaust. you wont get as big of a power increase by retaining the stock size, but i dont see how it can harm anything.

Well i got the LCE Header and hooked it up and i have put 2 1/4 inch exhaust all the way out. I can tell a significant power increase with my setup, my question is, I have put 3 sets of exhaust manifold gaskets on, each one i took off looked ok for the most part. But i have never had a header on a 4 banger and this thing sounds kinda like exhaust leaks but almost like it has opened it up and you can hear the air coming through it. I have put the gasket on by the fsm torque specs also. Is it supposed to have a throaty or bit of a noisy sound with it?

if you think its leaking do you think it could be comming from the air recurtlication(sp) block off plates? i have a very simmilar set up to yours, just no new head, and mine is somewhat throaty

Why not get a high flow cat and the proflow exhaust from LCE as well (which is 2 1/4" mandrel bent) which will compliment your header & cam nicely as far as breathability goes.

You can runt eh LCE header to a stock exhust w/o harming anything.

WOnt get much "power" out of the header - but it wond damage anything (I did that for a while too way back when)
