layed up engine-start up tips.
Starting my truck this weekend and it's been about 8 months since I started it. It's also been 8 months since I changed the base pan, So there hasn't been any oil in it. before I put it away, I put fuel stabilizer into it and that's all.
The engine is a 22-re.
So is there anything I should be doing like putting something down in the cylinders to keep the rings from skoring the walls or anything? Any tips to a healthier startup would be much appreciated

Fill with oil, remove coil wire and ground distributor end, crank for a few good bursts, or until oil seeps from loosened filter, then hook up coil and start. Let it idle, don't throttle it for a minute or so, to make sure its all oiled. Make sure oil light goes out, or gauge shows pressure.
