Has there ever been an aftermarket trailer light kit installed? Most likely culprit.

Wink

Now will be a good time to learn to be an electrical genius

You have shorted wire someplace

I would check the back harness first

x2 Trailer wiring.

Have a look inside your rear bumper for any wires hanging out of the main loom leading to the tailgate assembly. You might have to pull of the reusable plastic "cowl" thingy... and maybe strip some electrical tape off. I had a short in a factory-installed trailer plug... not the plugs themselves, but one short section of wire somehow rubbed it's plastic sheath off and started to rust.

The best part? Mine only grounded out when it hit the frame... every 3rd or 4th bump would touch the two, then the next bump would separate them again and it would all be fine. What a b**ch.

The signal lights are easy to take off the truck, I would pull all 4 corners and have a look at the bulbs and local wiring. Good luck!

have you checked your warning lights switch? the power for the signal switch runs thru there and it mat be shorted. my switch got stuck all the way in and shorted itself out. i would check that before tearing into you wiring.
