i just purchased a kayline soft top for my 1986 4runner and i was wondering if anyone here had one? if so how much did you pay for it and how much are (were) they new? also are they waterproof (can i wash my car with it on)? and finally i paid $300 just thought id throw that in

p.s.-anyone know what the two metal pieces that go next to the tailgate do?(they look like that thing but flipped down----> [ <---)

p.p.s.-there is a gap(tear) between the rear window and cloth can someone stitch it back together or not?

I had one too.

Take it to an upholstery shop and they can sew it up and stuff.

Mine was mostly waterproof. The most water you'll get in is probably from the back corners of the top.

 

yeah i just washed it today and the water came in from the top above the cab and in the back nothing to bad thoUgh!!

 

WATERTIGHT! Is it vinyl or fabric. If the Kayline is vinyl then some kind of tire patchy type repair might stop that tear...over there....somewhere....in the air....if you dare? Ok I have to get off the caffeine pills.

My Kayline works great (7 Years), now I have a pattern for the wife to make another. That Can-Bak truck is just too pretty for me.
