Wow, for me the closer I got to being done the more upset my stomach became. I was soooooo horribly worried that I missed something or forgot something and was going to FUBAR something. I probably quadruple checked EVERYTHING.
By the time I hit the key I was on the verge of puking. When she fired up with less than 1/4 second of cranking, faster than she ever used to fire up, the adrenaline and endorphans hit and I was like OMGWEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! ANDISAWTHISGANGSTAANDWASLIKEYOMOTHAF***AWEEEEEEEE-EEEEEE!!! wHEN YOU'RE A KID AND YA WANNA GO WEEEE...." LMAO!
ok no more mt dew for me after 11pm! lol

...they are hot tanking the block and boring it (he's going to call me tommorrow with the overbore size) for $100
if they need to machine the deck it will be $40
He is double-checking the crank for me
he is pressing the wrist pins out of the old pistons and repressing them in the new ones for $50
he said he would call me by tomorrow with the sizes on everything and he is going to let me know which bearings i need as well(not that i can't figure it out on my own, but its nice having a pro give me the numbers)
...
Did you get the internals balanced?
I bought a used block with a bent con rod and have just completed tearing it apart. I just need to know what I need to have done to the block...hehe
And from my unprofessional eye, everything looked BRAND NEW on this block I tore down with only 118k miles.

I did not have to have the deck blocked as it was within spec.
So it was $150 for the wrist pin work and the cleaning/boring the block.
I did not have it balanced as my machine shop felt that the cost to performance ratio would not be practical.
Glad to hear it all looked new, that should be a good building block - I would still use all new parts if it were me just for your own knowledge and satisfaction.

Hey, someone brought my thread back! YAY
Yes the truck now has 4500 miles on the rebuild and is running great - I just have a leak in the a/c or i would be driving it everyday --
I will post my feelings on the power difference this weekend as I have a 94 4runner beiong delivered - payed a whopping $1g for it... needs a lil head work...

Very awesome thread. Great job! I'm still baffled how you got that transmission to fit in the oven though.
I would really love to see a video of it to see and hear it!
