Thanks Shoes!

Bumpin! Thanks for the 3 finger check - I am going to put a spacer in there and hope for the best!

TNR -- Good point ! I guess I could have come up with that one on my own.

Goat - I should have known that yours was different as well, I must have been tired when I made that post.

Bumpin' - Funny you should mention that, I almost did that last night. I may oblige you either tonight or tomorrow. I will def take pictures. I did think it was going to be quick and ez thou.

I have my temp gauge on order(autometer 2552) and for the life of my I cannot figure out the part number for the additional sender, so i am going to get the first one in hand and then order it.

heheheheh well the actual process of changing it isnt bad, but lets just say you dont want to position yourself under the pan or filter when you pull either of them, cuz that drain plug really doesnt work so well.....lol

Did you turn it upside down? I'd be real careful if you do, so stuff doesn't drop into it. I think I'd do it right side up even though you get dripped on.

nope did it on its side so the stuff just drained down the side. easyest to get to all the bolts that way siting on my little wheely stool.

as seen from my sitting postion

oh and my EGR pics

i thought i had a thread on that....

all my motor pics i think are hear
http://www.snjschmidt.com/pics/motor/

how i stuck my 2 halfs together, worked really well

ill get around to giveing them a proper "index" page hear some day

some more advise, if you get the HF engine leveler, it works great, just put some extra trust washers with LOTS of axle grease and weld a nut or something to the center of the handle to use a drill to run the screw with in addtion to the handle because you get tired of cranking that thing after the first 40 or so cranks!

Thank you! And omg I hear that about the customers! Now that we are finally coming out of the snowbird season and summer is approaching, things are slowing down. Typically 300 - 400 scripts a day now. But during season 600 - 700 a day was pretty common. Just one more week to go and the old, nasty, farts will leave my state!! LOL

I've been LOUDLY wishing for a huge 110+*F heat wave to hit. That just makes the snowbirds scowl even more. Apparently they think we only fill 1 script a day and it's theirs! LOL

*old fart voice*

"I WANT MY VIAGRA NOW DAMN IT, SCREW THE KID WITH TWO BROKEN LEGS AND HIS PERCOCETS, I WANT MY VIAGRA NOW!!!!" (I had a guy actually say that too...I just told him we will have it out as soon as we can. Then I got the kid his painkillers and antibiotics inside of 10 min, the old guy? Yeah he waited another 30 minutes... )

or

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOUR WAIT TIME IS 45 MINUTES ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PUT THE PILLS FROM ONE BOTTLE TO THE OTHER?!?" (nevermind the 25 other people who put in for waiting before screaming person - apparently they think they are too important to wait in line.)

or you get a screamer. They wont listen to a thing you say or that you are trying to help them and they just start screaming. You then call a manager and ignore them and try to help other customers. (And try not to jump over the counter and introduce the screamer's spleen to a side kick and their face to the table...lol)

"Patience" - more people need it!

Oh yeah and then there was the customer who threatened to jump over the counter if his script wasnt ready. I was like, "ok do it" with a really big smirk on my face. He didnt know what to say after that, so he just walked off. He probably came to the conclusion that I love my Tae Kwon Do and would have no problem throwing him back over that counter from whence he came....hehehe

Oh yeah good idea.

Kat, take note of where the pan magnets are and put them back about the same spots after cleaning them, or look at the FSM for where they go. Be careful to keep the inside of the tranny as clean as posssible, I've heard that things as small as lint from a rag can cause problems with the valve body.

Here are some tranny pictures! It was a simply project - I am now ready to tackle an automatic transmission rebuild job. I would also have no problem with a valve body project at this point either. I thought it was going to be difficult...

It went about like this - clean, clean again, remove pan, clean, clean again, scrape old gaskets on transmission side, clean, clean again, replace filter(all of the 12mm bolts), clean out pan and magnets. quadruple check everything is clean one more time, apply "the right stuff" and readhere the pan to the tranny, next time remember that I should not use an air ratchet to put bolts in transmission pan as they all exceed the 10 N-M that was called for.... I left them as it -- they're still hand tightenable and nothing broke or oozed to much -- no prob

OH and no prob with the HIJACK!

I didn't receive a call from the machinist to come pick the motor up, so I assume he probably got busy.

That is ok as I have other things to do while I wait. Still need to figure out trans cooling -- I am between staying stock and copying mt_goats's setup.... I may break down and go with rubber lines as much as it pains me.

I think tomorrow I will put the fuel filter in. I may also put the new deck(Alpine 7998r) in, so that I can put the dash back together(i pulled the old deck a while back and didn't put it together). I need to order some wire for my amp run(I will probably do 0 gauge and be done with it....). I have a 14 ft length, anyone know how long it is from the terminal to the middle of the back seat on a 4runner? I am going to be running CDT 3 ways up front with a Diamond D9 10" sub in back. I also have a RF power 1000 amp that will be going in. It will give the fronts 200 on each side and the sub about 700-800... . I am going to be having a custom set of kicks made by our very own BUMPIN' for my 6 3/4" midbass drivers...

I did a little cleaning in the engine bay again, and I think that I will work on that again tomorrow..

I am researching how much of the engine to build while it is on the stand before i drop it in - IIRC snap-on dropped an almost complete motor with headers in.... I am trying to make the job as easy as i can and I know that i did not enjoy all the wiring connections, so if i can do them as i build and then push the harness connector back through the firewall that would be great.

Any thoughts --

Kat
