K&N intake.

Hi, does anyone have pics of a K&N intake installed on a 3.0? Id like to see it. Does it get rid of and the little black boxes and chambers associated with the stock intake? Or are there any other intakes that are good?

Do you only want to get rid of the intake silencer junk? If so, search ISR or Intake Silencer Removal.

Well, that and add a nice looking setup there. I need a filter too. It looks like the K&N would look alot better. Ive seen the ISR mod threads and I just dont know if I want to do that.

A few of us have just modified to a Supra AFM and new filter kit instead of the KnN. Just an option. Lots of pics too.

a K&N IS an ISR mod... just a very overpriced one...

just have an exhaust shop bend you a pipe, get it linexed, tap your fittings and save 200 dollars...

heck, if you really wanted the same "professional" looking intake, look up the Weapon R Secret Weapon intake for our trucks...

@ space-junk: installing a K&N is NOT necessarily doing the ISR mod. K&N makes a drop-in filter for the stock paper filter (not worth it, in my opinion if you care about your engine lifespan).

If I did the ISR, would a Wix filter be a good choice?

Wix oil filters are well priced and reputable, so I would have no reason to doubt their air filters.

picked it up for $75 a couple years ago, it goes for cheaper than $200, you just gotta keep your eyes open.

actually did an ISR removal mod before i bought this & had a drop in k&n w/ the stock airbox. This setup has been noticeably better, and cleaned up the engine bay. The piping i had fabbed up was pretty ghetto

& yeah... need to hose out the engine bay... it's been a while!
