K&N filter trail fix

Popped the hood when I got to my fishing destination on Easter Sunday, and found the air filet broken. More specifically, the element broken off the coupling. Luckily, I had some epoxy putty and was able to fix it. i'd stopped for gas less than 60km (35mi) back and checked the fluids and I would have noticed if the air filter was busted. It was also raining (thus not dusty) so i certain no damage was done. I wouldn't have been comfortable driving the 200km back home though, so it was good that I had the epoxy.

I didn't buy it, the previous owner did, I thought it was because it had a K&N sticker on the original AFM that he destroyed.

Yeah, it's not a K&N. K&N gauze is dyed that distinctive red color.

If the PO had kept the stock air box...

I'll probably see if someone in the area wants to trade.

Oh, I'm sure I could, I just always get distracted by the CL personal section with adds for swinging parties for "little people" (ie: midgets). I just picture people swinging midgets around in the air because midget coitus isn't something one normally thinks about. (I mean, they must....., but )

Edit: I hope i have not offended any midget yotatechers if there are any.

LoL midgets

wow from K&N filters to midgets... I want to say something very offensive right now, but it just wouldnt be appropriate so I'll refrain.

=^P

K&N isn't worth the $ tho. $5 FRAM filters twice a year = win haha

Oh, and running filterless won't kill your motor or harm it, fyi. Unless you're runnin down a dusty road you dont have much to worry about. Remember everything that gets sucked in gets burned up.

In other words, having to drive home before being able to fix the filter isnt something I would fret over. Unless I was on a dusty forest road.

very true

when I hydrolocked my motor and trashed my filter (thank god that's the only thing I trashed ) I had to drive home filterless

and then drive filterless up to the parts store the next morning to get a filter

no harm done

trashed the paper filter, then ungraded to the K&N, but when I go wheel'n, I swap in a standard paper filter that I have, cause I think they do filter better, and it's usually REALLY dusty around here... plus, who cares if I trash the $5 paper filter... I'll use the $40 K&N on a daily basis, and clean it once or twice a year
