Just cranking
Hi, so again im not getting gas. the other day i parked truck, went to start it few hours later and it did not catch. Iits sparking, so i sprayed gas into intake and it started for few seconds then shut off. so before, the o2 sensor burnt out on the exahst but that poped a fuse. this time though its not poping a fuse and its just cranking. so fuel pump, or fuel filter? or maybe theres a relay that goes? I really hope you guys can help me, i need this thing going for next week so its a push. Thanks a lot in advance. ( sorry for spelling)

Yes, as Wayne said, need to know what year, model, motor, etc. Different tests you can do for jumping the fuel pump, popping the cold start injector and seeing if it's getting go-go juice to it. You said you have spark, which I'm assuming YOU ARE POSITIVE OF, right?
It's not your O2, ....
Could be fuel pump or MAYBE filter, if it's completely garbage(doubt it, but if it's 100 years old, change that filter). If it WAS running, decent, then suddenly wont run, ...doubtful as I said it's the filter.
Not sure of the year, or if it's relative, but there could be a fuel cut going on. So, first need to try to jump the pump. If you have an EFI truck, 22RE, you could open the flap on the Air Flow Meter and see if the pump comes on(if you can't find the correct pins to jump in the diagnostic/jumping port in the engine bay...... should be an easy find in any book/manual).
Let us know whatcha got, and best wishes.

PS> Guys, this is all I could find on what he's got.....
Guessing it's a 94 PU, 22RE, ....LOTS of FSM links on this site for that one, ya know? Think "lumpy' has one in his signature for a 93, should work fine for testing the fuel pump, etc.
PS> The answer to his problem ended up being "O2 Wires were grounding on the exhaust, shorting every EFI fuse", .....if I remember correctly.
Hi, i am new to this site, i have a 94 toyota pickup that jsut broke down i was wondeirng if you guys could help me out. While i was driving up a hill, my engine just shut off. after getting it home, i checked through everything this is what i got. fuel pump wont work unless directly hooked up to battery, when i run it drirectly to battery it does pump gass all the way pass the fuel filter. all fuses in cab are good. what i found that was bad is the EFI fuse thats in the engine bay. this i switched out, tried starting it up, imediatly it poped. i checked all injectors and the wires are all fine. what else could cause this? Thank you for looking and the help.

i had a problem kind of similar, it was the fuel filter, fine one day clogged the next, and it only ran when it wanted too.
id check for fuel pressure, and try jumping your fuel pump like everyone else suggested

its on the motor underneath the intake manifold "top box" mounted to the cylinder head, its a pita to get to...a buddy i know has an 87 2wd and he said theres also one on the passengers side frame rail, ive looked but i couldnt find the one on the frame rail.
i'd atleast try the fuel filter anyway, its probably due for a change, and i think i got mine for round 15 bucks so its worth a shot!!

Filter is fairly easy if you just remove the Passenger side skirt/fender skirt. You can reach it with extensions and your hands easily from there(well, far more easy then trying to reach through the plenum/intake gap....that causes big scrapes in forearm! .....ask how I know.... NO, don't! lol.)

Does the check engine light come on when you crank the motor? If not, check IGN fuse in drivers kick and EFI fuse in fuse relay block on passenger inner fender. If those okay, make sure +B in check connector is hot when ignition is on. If it is, jump +B and FP in check connector with a paperclip and try starting. If it starts, may be bad circuit opening relay, or a wiring fault in the triggering circuit between ignition switch, COR and ground. If it doesn't start with FP jumped, leave it jumped, and listen near the fuel tank for sound of the pump running when a helper turns ignition on (but doesn't crank it).

the fuel filter is actually mountd to the block i guess, because the intake manifold would be mounted to the head and there wouldnt be any room right? i wouldnt know because i couldnt see a darn thing!! i was just feeling my way around....but once you get the filter removed from the block you can pull the filter out a little bit so you can remove the banjo bolts and actually see what you're doing

Alright fix that, thank you guys. the cable broke to the fuel pump. but during this search i found that a sensor on my engine block behind my fuel pump was cracked. what might this be? Thank you very much in advance! again its a 22re

If you have a 22re, the fuel pump is nowhere near the engine block, it's in the gas tank. The fuel filter is attached to the block, is that what you mean??
If so, there is an oil pressure switch or sender below the oil filter, and on 4WD models the knock sensor is above and a little aft of the oil filter.
