Hi,

I just bought a 1986 4runner and have started fixing it up a bit. I had a few questions that I was hoping someone here could answer.

1. Interior wise are the 86 and 89 the same or were there any significant changes made? Planning on purchasing a trim kit but cannot find any for an 86 just 89's and up.

2. I need to locate both the front and back bumpers, anyone know of any good places I could purchases original or custom ones?

3. If anyone knows of good places to go online and purchases parts (exterior and interior, I've got a 3 page list of stuff I need) I would love to hear them.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

the only difference in interiors is the amount of electronics ie windows ectra.
for stock bumpers try www.partstrain.com
but for nice aftermarket bumpers i like ones from marlin crawler
parts train will definately is a good new parts site and they have good prices

 

You could also locate DeathCougar or dirtoyboy here on yotatech and ask them.
From what I hear they both have pretty good sources on used parts, and sometimes new.

FYI The 1984-1986 4runners had an older style dashboard / trim and the 1987-1989 4runners had a newer style dashboard / trim.
