Update: (08/08/08 ha!)

When the truck was getting warmed, turned screw all the way and RPMS were super low. I let the truck warm up, did the same thing, truck stalled. Guess that rules out the ICV/AVV. I also updated my original post since I stated previously I was getting a CEL. Here is what's left that "could" be the culprit.

5) open or short in oxygen sensor circuit
6) oxygen sensor
8) engine coolant temp. sensor
9) volume air flow meter (air intake)

It started to rain again around my way so I will wait for the morning to do TPS. I have an ISR mod I wanted to do anyway.

Nice job, BoostinChick!!

Good luck with your other testing. And, be sure to post your ISR mod pics in the appropriate thread. I've peeked my head in over there.

Ah hell....I forgot to check my vehicle. Got busy building things. Sorry. I can still do that here shortly, though.

Clean Your Throttle Body Bore And Throttle Plate. Carbon Builds Up And Restricts The Air Flow Over Time. Do This With The Engine Off Carb Cleaner And A Clean Rag. Also After Wiping The Throttle Body Bore Down, Fire It Up. Let It Idle And Spray Carb Clean Into The Throttle Body. Short Blasts All Around The Bore Should Take Care Of Build Up Deep Inside The Throttle Body / Intake. A Bunch Of Smoke Should Be Coming Out Of Your Tail Pipe...it'll Smell Nasty Too.

TB was cleaned, didn't help too much.

TPS was checked and within spec so I guess cross that off the list. Temp sensor and o2 are still left. Thanks for all the help so far guys.

Update on this, replaced the o2 sensor and cleared the CEL. Still the same issue no CEL just yet. I only drove it around for a few minutes though, it usually comes on when I drive for more then 20 minutes.

The only thing left really is the coolant temp sensor and possible MAF? Maybe bad motor mounts that just makes the car shake at idle?? Entertaining any other ideas.

if your aif flow dohicky is out of whack it will cause it to run rich and or lean causing the o2 to throw a code. But if its shaking still then it could be running lean making it go hot throwing the temp code as well. test the air flow meter everything remember when i told you to take it off the air box and stick your hand in there and open it with the ohm meter on it try that it could be bad hun good luck or give me a call about things i got the hook up at the dealership

when you find a MAF on a 22re or even 3VZE, lemme know.

I'm sure it was a typo Abe,......I'm sure she meant the AFM, knowing that the 22re's and the 3VZE's don't have MAF's......

And the shaking is how bad at idle? Just noticible wile at idle, getting progressively worse while driving/revving the engine? Check your motor mounts, and the rear mount for the tranny. Also check the crossmember bolts as well......

I admit, I haven't read the whole thread...if I've repeted something already mentioned, my bad. Guess I should read the whole thread......?

You might have better success if you lose the Chilton's advice. Try www.techinfo.toyota.com

Factory service manuals and techniques and it's $10 per day to download whatever you want.

CEL came on today after driving about 20 miles.

The shaking isn't horrible at idle just noticeable when I am completely stopped at a light. It hasn't gotten worse still is the same. The truck drives good and doesn't give me issues or stumble when I gas it.

so you have a new O2, and the ECU is reporting a 'engine running lean' code.
start double checking for vacuum leaks. and exhaust leaks too.

Brand new cat-back (see sig) so that stuff was already checked out and I also have already checked vacuum leaks (page 1). Since my EGR is capped off along with my TVV not too much to check lol.

Hun, just cuz the exhuast system is new, doesn't mean that something couldn't have have come loose, or come apart somewhere's. Couldn't hurt to go over it, starting from head back, could it?
