Weird issue, haven't been able to find anything relatable to it.. 22RE, about 2 weeks ago, started the truck up, idled fine for a few seconds, then this loud knocking just started outta nowhere, equivalent to rod knock if not a tad bit louder.. I got out and popped the hood, revved it a few times and it knocked with the rpm, faster the revs the faster the knocks.. Blipped the throttle a few more times trying to figure out what it was, and it died out but gave off a sound like a rock was being dropped into the engine, like an erratic pinging off metal parts, and then the sound died completely, and havent had an issue since.. No power loss issues, no other weird noises, starts up just fine, no smoking, nothin out of the ordinary.. Then today I'm gettin off the freeway, and sitting at the stop light it does the same thing, outta nowhere this loud knocking begins, stays consistent with the rpms, but goes away even quicker, not more than 30 seconds this time.. Any ideas? Checked belts and pulleys too, nothing is in the way or rubbing, no oil leaks, coolant is normal, oil is normal..
