Removing the carpet is easy.
Take the seats out and shifter boots. It'll all come out in one shot.

As for what's underneath...
Well there's the cab steel, painted the same color as the body, plus there's sound-proofing stuff on top.
It's weird stuff, people say it's asbestos or something. I dunno. I just tossed my floormats on top. I didn't bother removing it.

Heres how I did mine. No subs but I took out the carpet and have racing buckets.

Heres what I had in it before. This pic still has the carpet in it but you get the idea.

A power washer did a fantastic job on my carpet:deal

I was wanting to remove the rear storage compartments, drilling out the spot welds and then the grinder...
The carpet would have to be changed and it really wouldn't add that much space under the dogs shelf.

Have fun

I'm thinking of doing the interior in my 4runner. I'm gonna use dynamat then put in some rubber floor liners instead of carpet. Anyone know where to get one at for a 93 4runner?

I am going to use these guys to put vinyl floors in my 89 Runner:
http://www.ap23.com/owens/product.ph...do4cuji6i5pq43

I don't know if they have then for the 93's but I would think they do. It seems like some good quality stuff! I was going to put truck bed liner on my floors but after pulling the carpet, I found all that sound deadening material looked like garbage and is a pain to get off (it takes dry ice and a hammer) and I feel like it would be quieter with carpet or vinyl. Good luck with the project!
