I have an 87 4runner with 22re that is need of a rebuild. I also have a great rebuilt 22r out of an 86 pick up. Can I use my fuel injection intake on the rebuild 22r? I am planning on just throwing the 86 rebuilt into the 4runner but like the idea of fuel injection. Especially with out cold weather in Edmonton.

 

Yes you can put the fuel injection manifolds on a 22r long block

 

You will need to remove the mechanical fuel pump dish off of the camshaft. It is the same motor, you just need to add the EFI things to it.
