Intake Manifold Upgrade
It's finally time to start working on the truck again. I'm taking off the factory intake manifold to be replaced with an offenhauser. I was thinking about ordering the 6266-dpw to go with my weber 38. I was wondering if anyone has used this setup, and what other parts are needed. Does the factory thermostat piping bolt on to the offenhauser? I've seen other people talk about the use of an additional part for the water jacket, but i'm not sure. I'll be posting pics of the deconstruction process soon. Thanks for your time.

water plate is to help warm the incoming fuel.
It does not come with the bottom water plate, but it does allow you to use the stock one. Or you can use the block off plate kit from LCE to completely disable it.
IIRC the offy intakes all need the older style thermostat housing. I believe the LCE site mentions that.
NOTE (from LCE): This intake manifold requires the use of an 81-83 Thermostat housing. We have these available for an additional $50.

Do you know which trucks actually came with the older style thermostat housing... mine looks alot like what is on the pics in the LC catalog. Is 81-83 the year range they used them on our trucks?
if so, rockauto.com has them for $23

Just got the intake manifold off... Just gotta finish hitting it up with the wire brush.
Now I see where all the random block of plates are gonna go.

While I wait for the new manifold, I'm gonna start the install on the holley fuel pump and regulator. Any suggestions on what to do with the extra 2 lines going to the tank?

extra two? oh one return and one vent. You can leave them there, but I would cap off the return, but don't cap off the vent. Leave the char. canister there is you like so you don't get any moisture in the line.
Which holley pump did you get?
While I am thinking about it, did you get yourself an oil pressure safety switch for the electric pump? It's probably a good idea.

Holley 12-802 with a 12-804 regulator. I wasn't sure if i needed the oil switch so i held off on getting one.
I guess it couldnt hurt to put it on.

that 12 802 is the wrong one. Should have went with the holley red. the blue one you got is for 9-14psi the red is the lower pressure one.
You don't "need" the safety switch but it's a good thing to have in case of an accident and the truck stalls out.

Do you think i'll burn out the blue pump trying to regulate it down that low?
Just sent an email to holley tech support to see what they say about regulating it to 3.5psi

don't know. you might, call up summit and ask em. even a Halley red is kinda high to regulate down to 3-4psi. but there is a flow rating for 4psi on summits site so that should work ok.

Your question was:
"I need to regulate the 12-802 pump down to about 3.5-4 psi. I have the holley 12-804 fuel pressure regulator, but i was wondering if it might cause damage to the pump trying to regulate it down that low."
Holley Tech support:
"Yes it''s possible the Blue pump is a 14psi max pump designed for the 4.5-9.5 12-803 regulator. The 12-804 regulator is design for use with the Red pump 7 psi max. The Blue pump will over power and push past the low pressure regulator."
Holley Red fuel pump is ordered and in route!!!

The exhaust system is next, but gotta save a little first. I don't even want to start talking about rebuilding the head and doing the cam yet... Its gonna happen, just not quite yet. I was thinking about going with pacesetter ceramic setup, but i see alot of people using the downeys
