Input on tire choices

I have a 86 4Runner with a 6" lift and I am trying to decide between a couple different tires. I am considering either the super swamper 34x9.50x15's or the super swamper LTB 31x11.50x15's. I guess a third choice would be the super swamper TSL in 31 or 34 x 10.50. I mainly only ever get into mud and don't really put a lot of miles on the truck. Should I consider a radial in the SS?
any input from all of you that have have run these tires before would be great.

6" of lift and your looking at the largest being a 34? If thats all you want, take some of the lift out. You should be able to get a 35-36 in there.

If all your doing is mud, get a set of TSL's or Boggers.

If you put on the 31s and some spacers, you could move to Hawaii and fit right in!

only if he were to put a 33x15x15 on a 15x12 rim

and....if it isn't going to see much road action, don't worry about radials.

I will be doing some in town driving and some hiway. Although I like boggers, they are more than I want to spend. So do you favor the TSL's over the LTB's?

I'd take the TSL's over LTB's if your main concern is mud. They are both Bias ply unless you go for the Radial TSL, which will give a better ride on the road.

I really like the 34x9.50's, I just don't know how good of a tire it is. I was hoping there might be someone out there that has run them or knew someone who had and had a opinon of them. I currentlu have 31x10.50x15 BFG AT's and I like them but would just like a more aggresive tire. If the narrow 34's aren't that great, then I would probably stay with the same size I have now.

I ran them for a while because I got them for free....didnt like em....rough riding..never balanced...Used them ONCE! The BFGs I had work best for most conditions

I needed a more well rounded tire...

They do work well in the mud...thats about it

I run Toyo Open Country MT's Only had them on for a couple months...but for a mud tire they are pretty quite and wear well. Havent taken them wheeling yet--but i will report back on monday on how they did on the trail.

If I was you I'd either go with the LTB in the 34x10.5 or the 33x13.5. If you are looking for something a little more gentle on the street but still decent on the rocks and mud I'd go with any of interco[s radial TSL's or BFG Goodyear etc. Just don't put anything smaller than a 33 on there because it will look goofy as all get out

I may have been wrong on the lift, I haven't had it that long, I asked the guy I got it from again and it may be a 4" lift instead of a 6". So the 34" tires may be out because I don't think they will work with only a 4" lift. That is unless someone out there knows different.

If you run a skinny tire (9.50, 10.50) you can get a 34 or even a 35 in there. I've got a 4" lift and I'm sure I could fit 35's in there.

When I first bought my truck, it came with 33x12.5 TSL Swampers. Looked great!! Road like crap...most of the time. Though, in the mud and on the dunes, they worked freaking fantastic! Soft rubber. They wear out faster than most. Those knobbies will grab every little dimple and rock on the street. After I finally wore mine down, I bought a set of Wildcat M/T and siped them. Have had them for at least 4 years and siped them twice and I'm finally getting to the point to start looking at new tires; considering the Toyo's. But, it's all about your own personal choice and what you intend to do with your truck. Let us know what you choose and give us feedback.

Dog gone that is sick! I love the way that looks on your truck, too bad they didn't work out for you. I wish there were more skinnies offered in radials.

Ochs99, if all you are doing is running mud, I think you should go with these tires......as long as you don't demand a comfy ride!
