ignition

Car does not start. Key turns, but it seems like the spring broke. How do I replace that?

From what you describe it sounds like the electrical part of the ignition switch broke .

Depending what year pull the covers off to access the switch.

Remove the lock cylinder (key turned to accessory push the pin and pull the cylinder out.

there should be a screw holding the electrical switch in.

Figure out if that is the problem

This is off the Top of my head I may have missed a step!!

I pulled out the lock cylinder and the ignition switch and found that the rod inside the bracket had broken. I couldn't find an after market part, had to order a new bracket from the dealer. I'll pick it up tomorrow and let you know if it works.
