I took mine off yesterday. So far I have felt no ill effects at highway speeds and I really prefer it off given that I only drive the Runner 3 miles to work each day and offroad.

Old thread I know... When I had IFS I took it off and never looked back - it doesn't take much too remove it and you can always put it back on if you don't like the on-road manners.

It maybe an older thread but a lot of good info. it was a nice read. As for me I'm doing both. Keeping it on the pickup for my DD and I have already disconnected the front of the 4Runner. She rolls a bit but you just need to slow down and enjoy the scenery.

Custom front and rear discos ended up being one of the best mods yet. Only downer is that now I have Jeep parts on my truck.

Wow. Blast from the past.

Still not running any, but now have a 3 link rear with soft coils and lots of body roll. Only one emergency maneuver so far, and while it was sketchy as all get out, I don't think a sway bar would have done anything except to make me feel more comfortable.

I guess I should point out that I have very short limit straps too. They are to protect the swaybar from overbending in the rear and I imagine they have a bit of an anti-sway effect as well.

Disconnects are one more thing to do on the trailhead, but it makes my truck behave a lot better on the road. Maybe it just made me feel more comfortable, but that's enough for me. After a week of driving my prizm, a loosey goosey truck with a locker just doesn't feel very reassuring.

I ran ifs for a while and now am rnning straight axle for the trail.

Heres my opinion after having both experiences.

IFS is IFS, it sucks for flex and stability. The difference on the trail will be minimal and wont make ANY difference while wheeling. I would just leave it alone
