IFS Skidplate

I got my 92 4Runner about 2 months ago and I'm whipping it back into shape with tasteful things done here and there.

I just bought a used skidplate for $20 off a friend because mine didn't have one when I bought it.

I really like the look of the IFS skidplates on trucks, it just reminds me of an armored car or something. lol.

Anyway.. I picked up the skidplate today and my buddy didn't have the bolts for it, which is a bummer.

I want to buy brand new bolts for it from a hardware store or auto store but I have nothing to go by except the treads on the truck itself.

I was wondering if anyone knew what the bolt specs? It would be a great help.

*Also I am going to paint my skidplate and I don't want to just go plain old black. I want a little flare to it but nothing too outrageous. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe some pics of your skidplates! *

Thanks
Smod

Pretty sure its a 8mm x 1.25 thread count x 25mm. Get a washer as well, as the OEM bolt has an integrated washer.

This is a pretty common Toyota bolt size so grab a handful of them while you're at the store.

that skid's pretty imposing, being bright blue and all. Get a shot from the front, I want to see how it looks with the color of your truck.

I have the same problem. I took my skid plate off a long time ago and lost the bolts. I was recently wanting to put it back on but really didn't want to deal with the hassle of finding new bolts. And also, when I owned my 1st 2nd gen it was black and I painted my skid yellow along with the shocks.

Yeah. The skidplate I got is in perfect condition because my buddy never used it. And by giving him $20 I felt like I was helping him out. But he's a stiff when it comes to parts he sells sometimes.

Anyway. I like the big ol' runner wih that green skid. It looks pretty sick.
I also like that blue colored skid from Space-junk.

I have a dark blue 2nd gen. and I love the color. I may consider finding out the color code and paint it the same color.

Otherwise I was thinking doing black and painting on a skull possibly.

Thanks for the info on the bolt size everyone.

I'd like to see more pics of SKIDS! I probably won't get mine on until after I replace a broken ifs axle so it will probably take about a week because I'm lazy too. lol.

Thanks

bahahahaha, I didn't even notice that guy in the background; that's some funny $#@!

I'd paint mine to match my truck, but I'm not sure how long it would stay looking white
