unless you want to invest thousands, go for it... there are other forms of longer travel, but you wont be able to launch your truck through the air.

It depends on what you want to use your truck for. 2wd will pull more travel, but there are 4wd kits that still have good amounts of travel. For all around performance, get a caddy kit or a uniball long travel kit depending on your truck year. Even just adding uppers and coil overs will help tremendously. I have the TC kit with king 2.5"s on my 02' tacoma, and it works amazing. A 4wd "prerunner" if you would call it that, but it still pulls 14" of travel while retaining 4wd (tundra or t100 axles necessary). Well worth it. Launches and still has enough travel to creep around on the trails, strong chromoly upper and lower control arms. check out http://www.chaosfab.com/95200.html and http://www.camburg.com/suspensionprod.html to start...

no... not at all. prerunner bumpers are just for that, pre-running and holding a butt ton of lights. its sturdy as a mule because its bolted down and i'm sure you've only tried to budge it by jerking it. unless you have the right machinary, you can't simulate the weight of your truck bashing a rock. they are not made for rock crawling and probably should not hit stuff. a tap on a rock here or there ok, but if you really tried to use it as a real bumper = bent light bumper. so i wouldn't try anything stupid with it

Here's a poser in the back yard before I added the rear LC springs and removed the front sway bar.

Your runner is tight, that's what I want to do. I already have the LC coils, need BJs and shocks and money. What length shocks did you use?

I used Superlift 4 inch shocks, but word to the wise, they are not long enough, I'm going to sell my front and rear shocks with less than 100 miles on them for a loss so I can buy 5inchers or 6inchers for the rear, and maybe a 2 inch longer one for the front, but they are pretty damn close in the front, there's only about an inch more travel in the front if that so hmm, we'll see.

And man, I had my BJ spacers since October waiting to find a set of LC springs, got them shipped to my door for 55 bucks cause I was patient, and shocks I got on sale through 4wparts, need an alignment bad though, and thanks for the compliment, FYI, I had to grind down my front control arm a bit for clearance on the Taco rims, but those rims and tires will be up for sale soon, after I get my RB bodylift on preping for hte motor swap I'm going to 35's and D holes or rock crawlers
