I like the look of the TJM's and ARB bull bars, Look amazing IMO.

They are just too big for wheeling. I had my ARB for 3 years, and it was just plain beat to death when I sold it.

Great bumpers, but rock magnets for sure.

Round tube bumpers are more practical, but don't look good, IMO. I went with rectangular tube at 1/4", and its beefy, low pro enough not to hang up, and looks decent, though it needs more work to look good.

yeah the tjm makes it look like a tank but it also weighs as much as 1 hahahaha. you must have lost 2 mpg when you put that thing on your rig! An i gotta disagree prerunners dont just hold lights, i dont know if its just mine but its sturdy as a mule! i aim for deer now! hahahahah jk but it is rugged enough to hit stuff!

yeah I love the tank look! it really isn't that heavy. it will be with all the stuff on it, ( winch, jack, lights, D-shackles, cb antenna ) my TJM also has a really good approach angle. I love it to death. plus its not "brand new" so I dont mind if it gets rock rash from tires kicking up stuff. no biggie.

Yeah, my ARB was a nice weight too.

As for approach, the TJM's must be vastly different than the ARB's. My ARB was better than stock, but not much. It didn't matter too much, as I would just drive into a rock, slide up the bumper, and then the front wheels would catch. However, it was a little bit of a problem since the bumper would flex a bit. I lost a corner marker light and bent my fender from the wing moving up and down. The mounts stayed put, but the wings would flex by almost an inch.

 

Heres a good picture of the "angle" i guess.... this is in comparison to the stock 98 tacoma bumper. Its really good as far as the approach angle... I dont expect to hit anything, anytime soon. especially with a lift.

1964 1/2 Ford Mustang with a 289 and c4 tranny (ew) we want to swap a 5 speed in it. pretty much the only thing original on it is the rear bench seat... it used to be an original straight 6. we repainted it, new chrome accessories ( bumpers and such ) front disc brake conversion... etc etc





2004 Ford Roush mustang stage 2... perfect example of why to not buy a Ford vehicle.... stock gears went out ( we swapped 4.10s in it ) intake manifold went out, cylinder #1 had problems, electrical issues ( stereo volume knob when turning it down, it goes up ) new clutch, new fuel pump, new muffler ( rock pierced a hole in one of them ) plastic interior rattles... cant really think of anything else wrong with it... oh by the way, its daily driven, babied to death, and only has 62k miles. the only thing that is really holding up on it is the paint ( its gorgeous with a wax coat ) its also the 40th anniversary roush edition... so its cool that we have the 1st and 40th edition

 

I'd like to see a Plaster City run. That will really show off the flex.

I would run into issues with mine when trying to climb:





where the bumper stuck out too far, and I had to drive it straight into the rock, and push the bumper up the rock until the front wheels would grab.



you can also see where the wing flexed up and mashed into my fender and corner light in these pics. Eventually the light cracked apart and had to be replaced.
