IFS Flex Pics

When isn't it money? I'd have the shiniest best truck ever if I had more $$$. It would still be a 2nd Gen 4Runner though, I love my rig.
Shine, get a build thread up and show off what you did. Leafs or coils?
Welcome to Yotatech, just remember to be polite. It's a pretty friendly community here unlike Pirate for example. I've learnt a lot here because of patient and nice people.

Oh yeah Nate I forgot to mention. A modified 4x4 in Australia must pass certain rules, one thing they hate is increased track width.... Silly really. That and body lifts. They make you do a highway pass test to test body roll.
The FJ62 front axle is the same width as stock IFS.

Here in WV we have a State Inspection. Nothing compared to other states tho. We have no smog or junk like that. Ours consist of a man checking to see if all the lights function correctly, brake and rotor check and RUST on the body. If you have a hole it won't pass. Oh and if you have add on lights such as Fog Lights, LIght bars, EXT they must work.

i think money is the issue here. i use my 88 SAS runner as a daily driver built it myself. 5.29gears. duals with 4.7. custom shafts, dirty 30's, i just swap tires 35 1250 toyo mt onroad 38 12.50 tsl bias offroad. and drives like a caddy. they do when their built right. and the front flexes as good as the rear.

Bashing IFS here is pointless. There are threads/places for that discussion.
Personally, I think photos of the rear axle is totally relevant when combined with photos of the front. The truck is a system, and all four corners affect each other. I like to think that this thread is about how to get the most useful flex and capability out of an IFS truck. The rear is totally a part of that conversation.
Less talk, more flex!

They have crazy rigs there still. It just costs A LOT more than what we have to pay.
Part of it is our motor sport gets caught up in "hoon laws". A hoon is Australian for dickhead street racers. Burnouts etc in the middle of the night. So, get caught being an idiot in a modified hot rod a couple times they take your car and crush it.
4x4's get caught up in the net. While Australia is pretty awesome it is very knee jerky in its politics.
What many do is swap tires and rims to a factory back spacing then throw their slightly illegal stuff back on and cross your fingers.
I hope to live country there. So for myself I just wont drive through downtown Melbourne that often just begging for the boys in blue to say hello. Proper fender flares, mud flaps and the engineering certificate in the glove box might not be enough if one is having a crappy day.
However, the wheeling will be epic.

I'd be more comfortable with a solid axle out there.
I've got some exciting trip ideas for when the missus drags me back.

Ocel, like the rag top.
Always like those but being from British Columbia I could never get one. It rains so much at home that I worry. I also still make sure no change is in sight too, damn crack heads will break your window for a quarter.

Your point is?????? Did you build it with your own hand and money or did mommy or daddy send it off to a garage for there little baby boy to have a nice toy. If your gonna bash here then you need to find a better forum to hang out at. Your previous cocky post has earned you no respect here.

We're working together to compare notes on how to get the most out of our IFS setups. We're not trying to have a pissing contest with solid axle rigs. Move along. There are plenty of solid axle threads around here for you to share your build in.

Also, any of my change gets taken without broken windows!
I've got the hard top, and I put it on for the wet/cold time of year, but I can't go wheeling with passengers in the back with the top on in the summer. It's too hot for that.

Well said, thank you. Also your truck looks awesome!

Was working at the beach all day today. Its always nice to check in and see the conversations from the day. I've sent a dozen or so kits to various Canadian enthusiast and had some discussions on some of the legal issues. I've also sent (2) full kits to Australia and (1) weld up kit, so I know there were concerns there as well.

Thats exactly my point actually haha. I'm just now getting into the offroad scene. I don't need to put thousands into a truck when I'm not 100% sure how I like it yet. So I don't need 36" of articulation. I just like playing around with stuff like that. Am I expected to just hop up on a boulder with stock IFS and 27" tires? My front suspension barely even compresses right now. And I'm not angry at all, I'm just wondering why you came onto an IFS thread just to slam it and boast about your SAS. Forums are supposed to bring people together and share ideas, not start fights.
