IFS Flex Pics
#1283
I did my best to get a before/after shot after installing some Energy Suspension low profile bump stops.
Here's my front flex with the stock bump stops. Back wheel is up on a rock:

Here is the same pose with the new low profile bump stops.

Not sure what it is. There is some lift blocks on the rear but idk if that would affect the flex. Like I said, sway bars are already removed. Rear bump stops are also gone.
The truck was lifted like this when I bought it, maybe the previous owner didn't install extended shocks??
Any ideas?

It depends on your priorities.
I'm not doing all the "extreme" stuff so IFS has been fun. I'm also driving my truck around town, nearly daily, so I appreciate the road manors of IFS.
I've got 4.88 gears with 31" tires and a stock t-case, so nothing has exploded on me yet. Yeah, if you want an extreme rock crawler SAS is the way to go.
But this thread isn't about that debate. This thread is about getting the most travel out of an IFS setup for those who have decided that IFS will get us where we want to go, and sharing the results (or looking for help).

why would you dog ifs on an ifs flex pic thread? The benefits and cons of ifs and sas have been beaten to death more than enough times. It all comes down to how you wheel and what you wheel. There is no need to bash ifs and say they are trash, obviously if you say that you have never used it correctly and fully. The fact that you put that high of gear and probably much too large of a tire with a reduced tcase is why you break ifs. Look at long traveled rigs, they get the piss beat out of them and withstand.

lets face it ifs sucks. i got tired of breaking the weak ring gear and axles and tie rods. it was one of the 3 regularly. sometimes you just got to face it and relize its junk and are you able to do some real wheeling with out breaking. in my case i had spent on it for what i could've done an sas for. so after i did the sas i felt like all that other money i spent on 5.29 and locker and ball joint spacers and tie rods and axles half a dozen times was just wasted. i also had the 4.7 tcase. now my 87 runner is dual case with 4.7 and SAS and all chromoly axles. stop wasting your time on IFS junk
i love this picture and i need to get out to get some new ones hehe

so much for girls can't park eh?
