Identify these grommets please

They came in my rebuild kit. There are 8 of them. They fit snugly over he tips of the injectors, but dont really fit over the butts of the injectors. 99% sure they arent for that.

Thanks!

valve stem seals....give them to the machinist who is cleaning/checking your cylinder head and have him replace the seals with those.

C'mon, everybody has a first time. Unlike some of us, he was smart enough to ask.

Got to learn sometime and from somewhere. Want to know how I learned what they are? Well, I'll tell you....

Bought the Toyota rebuild gasket kit, and matched up a lot of the stuff using pictures from here and during take down. Took my head to a machine shop and took the entire gasket kit with me. Asked the guy "You need any of this stuff?" and he replied "Sure, I'll use your oem valve stem seals if you want" I said, "Ok" and watched him pick out the 8 doo-dads from the kit. Then asked him what they do and where they go. And now I knew what valve stem seals looked like and what they do.

And to make it even more fun, the kit "should" contain more gaskets than you actually need. (Because the kit is supposed to work for all configurations.)

It's bad enough to put the engine back together and end up short a few parts. It's even worse when you have some parts left over! That's one of the reasons you should match up all the gaskets in advance.
