I recently picked up this 86 4x4 with 22REC . I noticed this plug next to the intake that does not go anywhere. It appears to be tied up with a piece of purplish tape. I know that wiring harnesses are used in between models and sometimes there are extra unused plugs, but this seems weird, being in the middle of the engine.

Can someone identify it please?

If you read off the wire colors someone with an EWD might be (better) able to help you.
