i was dooped into thinking its a real projector. i got them thinking its a real projector b/c i wanted to put hid in there but after seeing it was just some hokey magnefying glass over the bulb i have yet to get an hid kit b/c it would be a waste. so now i'm thinking of getting real hid housings out of a car that came with hid and sticking them in these housings and then getting hid. but...how in the hell would i secure the real hid housings in there so they don't rattle out, get misadjusted, and generally fall out? bondo? can't use screws w/o it looking like crap. i saw on here somewhere a post with a link to real projectors in the 4x7 or 4x6 or whatever rectangle but they were like $1,200 (hid included). no thanks.

i need lights with real projectors. does anyone know of any? hid needs a clear cut off that can only be achieved with a projector, otherwise its a waste.

i plan on trying a headlight amplifier, and if that doesnt work, im just gonna go back to halogens. maybe the silverstars. cuz in the city its ok cuz theres a lot of light, but on the highway i can see maybe 10 feet in front of the truck, or maybe 20, 30 would be generous, and the highbeams flash off reflectors like a mile away, but dont give much better light. im sick of xenon. lol.

I just installed cheapo lights also, had the blue bulbs already in. In hawaii though, you cant have any blue lights on your vehicle, so i changed them out....but i forgot what brand i put in! there really bright now.

superjoe, ya...like that.
i can get audi, bmw, acura, etc projectors for under a $100 and an hid kit for another $100 so i'd be two bills into it. thats not my problem....i'm worried about rat farming this together to then have it rattle lose and fall apart on the road or trail.

hot glue? really? how is that working? any other epoxy's or what nots that will work? if i can find a compound i feel good about securing the projectors i'll do it.

you can pm, i prolly won't check back on this thread. thanks

The HIDs are nice but $$$. I have Cibie E code housing with regular halogne H4 55/100 bulbs and am very pleased with the light intensity and cutoff. They have the "city lights" halo or whatever option, but I never hooked them up. They were 50 bucks each. them plus my pro90xt's never leave me needing any more light.

I got the roundeyes kit and though it was more $$ and I was punked out for paying I am way beyond happy with the results. They SMOKE the factory sealed beams and i already had the upgraded sylvania 'whiter' headlamps in there. I saw your post about the HID kit and that looks pretty interesting also.

True dat. In Hawaii, you can't have sh@t... We got reconstruction laws (aka recon) that kinda hinders our ability to show our creativity. (knowwutImean?)
