I said "LET THERE BE LIGHT" and there was light.
Got my lights all in and set up. I still have to wire the HALOS and city lights though. here are a few pictures from the install.
comparing new to stock
left is old light on, right is new light on
Front end with all the lights in and grill back on
Lights all on.
I'll get night time pictures tonight.
Im also comparing bulbs. In the driverside is a bulb that is BLUE with a blue tip. In the passenger side is a bulb that is BLUE with a white tip. 'll report back

cheap EBAY lights... just universal 7X6 projector lights. I didnt want to spend money on expensive lights as i wheel in tight wooded areas...so replacing a $10 light is better than replacing a $50 or more light

thanks for all the pics. i got the same lights but put regular bulbs in there. imho the one that come with them are cheezy ricer looking types and if you read up on aftermarket bulbs, aside from piaa, the nighthawk or silverstars most of the blue looking ones actually put out less light. i don't think mine are properly aimed but i also don't think they're all that bright either...maybe, maybe better then stock but not much.

i got the similar ones to this for a 92 and my 80. i did not connect the city lights (would not fit on 80 no room behind in housing) due to i hunt a lot. i HATE the blue bulbs in mine i am swapping them out asap. they SUCK on dirt roads and kind of "monotone" the road. but yea those look good.

is there a reason why you got the "projector" ones, vs. the regular model? you do understand that the lens in there is just for looks, it serves no optical purpose. and X2 on those blue bulbs, get some clear h4's

Yea I know these projector ones are just for looks man. They were the same price of the regular ones, so no big deal. As for the lighting itself...If I didnt have my HELLA500S on, I wouldnt have been able to see the road. tehse things are DIM...thats an understatment. They look cool since they are blue..but i need light. These bulbs themselves are blue...Im going tomorrow to buy some nice clear H4s. HOPING that will help?

I wont drive with them like this...I want LIGHT. It sucks because im used to my HIDs on my VW...i imported them directly from germany! They were wicked $$ but i'll never get that light output with the yota. I'll try some nicer H4 bulbs tomorrow. Will report back. What bulbs do you guys recomend?

and thats why the Hella e-code lights are $50 a side, Hella actually cares how the headlight preforms

^^ my buddy has these same headlights in his 87 yota truck. BUT he uses the SILVERSTAR ULTRAs. They are like $65. He said they are VERY bright, and ide be extremly happy with them. Should I get a set of cheaper bulbs, or go for the ultras?

also, does he perceive them as being "bright" from looking at them head on because of glare, or is the actual light on the road bright?
